Cube Automation has an immediate need for an Industrial Project Engineer to become part of a dynamic team. In our Company, the Industrial Project Engineer analyzes the client’s processes, designs a solution with the team, establishes a cost estimate, prepares and negotiates a proposal and follows the project up to its completion.

Key Responsibilities:

The Industrial Project Engineer reports to the Industrial Department Manager and has the following responsibilities:

Industrial Engineering

Analyze clients processes and production lines
Analyze production costs
Conduct time studies
Evaluation & design of factory layouts
Conduct reliability and performance studies
Lead factory layout & design meetings
Research new machinery and recommend efficient combinations
Conduct feasibility studies
Carry out return on investment studies

Project management

Plan and manage project costs and materials
Produce project reports
Lead and coordinate teams of engineers and technicians
Meet with clients as required to evaluate project progress and address any issues
Supervise and inspect the installation, modification and commissioning of systems
Perform other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor

System Engineering

Lead or participate in software automation and mechanical system design
Participate in R&D and continuous development
Enforce & improve our engineering standards

Parts & Service

Receive customer replacement & spare parts requests
Order parts & manage Cube’s parts inventory
Enforce & improve our parts ordering and inventory management processes
Analyze existing process and procedures to suggest & implement lean solutions
Other task as required

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline
5 years’ experience minimum as an Engineer
Licensed P. Eng.
Supervisory and senior position experience
Experience in continuous improvement processes in industrial environments (Kaizen, Six Sigma, SMTP and APICS) is a definite asset
Good knowledge of Autocad (other software can be considered)
Good knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Access
Ability to see other peoples’ point of view
Ability to understand the client’s business process
Ability to be a team player and do what is required to help reach objectives
Has the mind-set of delivering superior results
Excellent problem solving, analytical, planning and organizational skills
Detail-oriented and very attentive to high-quality work (critical qualities)
Good leadership skills
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
May need to hire technicians if necessary
Bilingual: English and French

Additional skills that can be considered:

Mechanical Design experience
3D software & design knowledge
Pneumatic and/or hydraulic system design experience
Instrumentation and control design experience
PLC Troubleshooting and programming experience

Above all, you will be a good problem solver and excellent team player with good organizational skills and a desire to produce meticulous work.
