Employee Engagement Program
EDC recognizes that addressing environmental issues requires the participation of all sectors of society, and works strategically with its corporate partners to create and deliver customized programs that facilitate behaviour change amongst employees, while helping achieve their sustainability and conservation goals.
Position Summary
The Employee Engagement Program Manager works closely with EDC’s partner, CN, to deliver the EcoConnexions employee engagement program with a focus on improving energy efficiency and waste management in the workplace.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with CN Staff, the Employee Engagement Program Manager
participates in the development, delivery, and evaluation of training workshops and engagement events and campaigns at CN worksites located across Canada and the USA (between 10-15 workshops are planned for 2016),
contributes to the development, revision and management of EcoConnexions communications materials and participates in the ongoing communication strategy and implementation of the plan,
coordinates engagement of CN staff in the Eco Champions program and tracks participant achievements, rewards, and recognition
supports employee engagement through managing the ecoconnexions.com website which allows CN employees to commit to acts that reduce their impact on the environment and to track their impact online
in addition to EcoConnexions, the Employee Engagement Program Manager will research and maintain an inventory of best practices related to employee engagement programs; will support the President in the development of new employee engagement programs for interested partners.
Qualifications
University degree in Environmental Studies/Science, Communications, Sustainability, Business, or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience
At least 3 years experience with employee engagement programs and/or environmental sustainability initiatives
Strong background in communication and activation campaigns
Extensive communications experience, including writing, presentation, and facilitation skills
At least 3 years of project management experience in a collaborative setting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, web resources and social media tools
Excellent interpersonal skills
Creativity, flexibility, and independence
French is an asset
Willingness and ability to travel
