Emtech Consulting Engineers Limited, established in 2008, is a Nova Scotia based company dedicated to providing high quality services and designing building systems with the most up-to-date technological advances in energy conservation.

In preparing complete design solutions for our clients we offer complete electrical distribution, power, lighting & associated controls, communication, fire alarm, public address, audio/video, security (including intrusion, closed circuit TV & access control), nurse call, and assisted listening system design solutions.  Where additional specialized systems are required we work with industry leaders to ensure flawless integration.

We presently have an opening for an eager, self-motivated person to fill an immediate position within our company.
Available Position: Electrical Designer/CAD Technician

Responsibilities:

Design electrical and associated systems for Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Retail, and Multi-Unit Residential buildings.
Develop electrical design drawings utilizing Autocad software.
Develop and modify project specification sections.
Review project shop drawings.
Perform site investigation to develop existing condition drawings.
Perform site reviews to verify installations have been completed in accordance with project specifications.  Provide detailed list of deficiencies for items found not to comply.
Develop electronic forms to assist in standardizing company operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Candidate must be a graduate of a recognized post secondary institute with an accredited degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technologist or equivalent.
Candidate must have some design electrical design experience and be able to work independently or in a team environment.
Candidate must have the ability to operate Autocad (latest version) unsupervised.
Strong computer skills.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Experience operating AGI32 lighting design software shall be considered an asset.
Experience operating electrical based engineering software, such as ETAP, SMK or Easy Power shall be considered an asset.
