About the role
The Women Friendly Cities Challenge (WFCC) is an initiative by Vancouver-based non profit Women Transforming Cities International Society. The WFCC has a vision of being an online library and database of women friendly policy and practice from around the world. Individuals, organizations and policy makers will be able to visit the database and find policy and project ideas to help make their city a place where all self-identifying women and girls can thrive. The project is in its early stages and requires someone with digital project management skills to help it become an interactive database filled with great ideas and visited regularly by policy makers and organizations from around the world.
About you
You are an intersectional feminist with a strong understanding of user experience and digital databases.
You are familiar with WIX and other website building platforms.
You are a strong written communicator, and have experience producing website copy.
You enjoy building partnerships and working in a team towards shared goals.
You have experience or an understanding of feminist and women-friendly policy, or experience working with feminist organizations.
You are an independent worker.
Responsibilities
Oversee the creation of a new WFCC website
Build a user friendly, easily searchable, database of practices
Add additional content and wise practices to the database
Create a growth and communications plan for WFCC
Build partnerships with like minded organizations across Canada and globally
Produce social media content on the WFCC
Create visually catching graphics

Support
Your day to day manager will be a Project Manager at Women Transforming Cities, and you will also provide updates to a working committee of the board tasked with the oversight of the WFCC.

Working from a home-office
Role is for 6 months
Pay is $30 an hour, 30 hours a week (+4% leave loading)
Flexible hours — 30 hours can be completed in whatever way works best for the project manager

Intern Eligibility Criteria
This position is funded by the Digital Skills 4 Youth program.
To be eligible for DS4Y, interns must meet the following criteria:
post-secondary graduates, who are up to 30 years, or younger, at the start of the internship;
legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e. Canadian citizen, permanent Resident or person who has been granted refugee status); and,
self-assess as underemployed, meaning they are employed below their level of education, outside their field of study, or hold part-time employment.
In the north (Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut), eligible participants may be youth between 15 to 30 (inclusive) years who are legally entitled to work in Canada and self-assess as under-employed.
