We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic design support specialist for our Ottawa, Ontario office. The qualified candidate will be responsible for creation of conceptual to production drawings under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Design Engineer.

Duties include:
Undertaking field investigations and/or construction review;
Creating written reports;
Interpreting and working with rough sketches created by the engineering staff;
Preparing structural designs and details in AutoCAD;
Interacting positively with clients and/or contractors; and
Working closely with other designers and engineers as part of a project design team.
In this role, assignments and projects can involve building and facility assessments, feasibility and concept development, rehabilitations and building envelope. Typical projects vary from alterations and additions on single dwelling residential buildings, to multiple building facilities containing complex commercial, industrial or institutional structures.

Minimum Qualifications:
Certification in Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology.
3-5 years working knowledge of AutoCAD 2015 and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred.
A valid Ontario Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle and proof of insurance.
Proven multi-tasking skills and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of an engineering team.
Experience in the infrastructure industry or a background in structural or architectural engineering is considered an asset.
Fluency in French is considered an asset.
