Data Manager / Data Administrator – DGI Clinical Inc – Halifax City

DGI Clinical Inc. is seeking a bright, self-motivated, and dynamic individual for the role of Data Manager/Data Administrator.

DGI has a proprietary outcome measurement tool in Alzheimer’s disease, SymptomGuideTM, which is currently being used in global clinical trials.  Together with our innovative outcome measure, we capture data through various systems and apply our data mining techniques to large data sets.  We continue to innovate our analytical approaches and are expanding to other disease areas.   If you have a passion for data, information technology, are detail-oriented, analytical, and want to work in a small, highly innovative environment, then this might be the role for you.

Under the direction of the company manager and scientific officers, the database manager will have the following duties:

Data Collection

Formulates, implements, and enforces proper data collection policies and procedures
Establishes data quality standards and works with team to ensure standards are met
Ensures quality data collection techniques are established for clients
Works with developers and DGI team when designing new systems

Data System Management

Helps to develop and implement evaluation methodology related to our various systems to determine completeness and adequacy of the data collection procedure.
Troubleshoots data submission errors and data error issues
Performs and documents procedures for data preparation including data cleaning, data dictionaries, standardization and analysis
Ensures data system is operational, and address any issues with the developers
Provides ongoing quality assurance of current systems and their databases
Help with set-up, testing, and implementation of data collection software

Client Communications

Generates bi-weekly reports to current clients to ensure data is being captured
Acts as point of contact for access to the systems, monitors ticket system
Answers client’s queries and data entry errors

Data Reporting and Analysis

Understands and ensures adherence to privacy law, data security and standards
valuates current systems to improve operations and potential automation
Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual data reports for external and internal distribution
Develops ad-hoc reports as necessary
Prepares data for analysis and presentation at conferences and meetings
Develops and maintains a public access or limited access data research portal
Shares data with clients, as needed
Consults with developers on data coding problems and assists in developing means to correct the problems
