The City of Quesnel is seeking a part-time Computer Support Specialist to provide support within the City’s Information Technology Department. Quesnel is a bustling small city with an area population of 23,000 people. Quesnel’s regional airport, rail connectivity, and location directly on British Columbia’s main north-south corridor, make larger markets accessible within a one day drive or one hour flight. With business-friendly government at the local, provincial and federal level, Quesnel is an ideal location to work, live and play.

The ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge of the practices and procedures used in the installation, configuration and operation of computer equipment and software applications as related to the work performed. Reporting to the Information Technology Coordinator, this position is responsible for performing technical and operational work in the provision of computer user support and problem resolution services to the organization and acting as relief when the Information Technology Coordinator is away. This is a part time position of approximately 26 hours per week with flexible hours.

Education and Experience: Completion of a two year (2) diploma course in computer sciences or related discipline at a technical institute or community college, plus sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered as deemed suitable by the City of Quesnel. Preference will be given to those with experience in a Municipal network environment and experience with municipal line of business applications (Vadim, Class, etc) is an asset. Must pass and maintain RCMP enhanced security clearance.
