Opportunity: Reporting to the Manager, REAL Knowledge Program at the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation (NSHRF), the Communications Officer is responsible for maintaining the NSHRF’s web presence, coordinating the corporate communications functions and supporting the NSHRF in disseminating information and knowledge in a timely and practical manner.  This is an integral position to the NSHRF team and therefore will be actively engaged with all team members.

The Communications Officer will be responsible for overseeing a number of critical communications products for the organization, including its Annual Report, as well as coordinating multiple communications projects to promote the programs, services and initiatives of the NSHRF.  In addition s/he is responsible for managing the NSHRF website including drafting copy, managing the navigational structures and leveraging social media tools as appropriate.

Qualifications: This position requires an individual with post-secondary education and one to five years of experience in communications.

Experience: The incumbent must possess excellent writing and proofreading skills, and the ability to distill complex information to produce plain language communication tools for varied and multiple audiences.

Compensation: Compensation for this position is $34,400.57 – $39,879.69.
