Communications Officer – City of Penticton – Penticton, BC

The City of Penticton is seeking an innovative and energetic individual to fill the position of Communications Officer.  As a member of the management team and reporting to the City Manager, this position is responsible for all administration, planning and coordination of all internal and external communcations.  These communications include public awareness and educational campaigns, civic advertising, media relations, community engagement and digital and online communications in addition to providing advice and support to the Mayor, Council members, City Manager and City staff.

Do you like to write, are you an expert in social media, are you creative and can interpret highly technical information into simple, easy to understand language?

If you have a Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related discipline with a minimum of three years’ experience or combination of education and experience this may be the opportunity for you.

In this position candidates must demonstrate and maintain a high degree of confidentiality in a politically savvy manner, possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and will be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
