Multiple Auxiliary Relief Positions
The Urban Forestry Section of our Parks Division is recruiting for multiple experienced Arborists for casual, on-call work providing relief for sick leave and vacation coverage of our regular full time Arborists. The work requires skill and ability at the technical level in the urban forestry and arboricultural field with emphasis on providing work direction to other staff, operating an aerial lift truck, climbing, pruning, removing, rigging, assessing, general plant health care and integrated pest management for a wide variety of native and non-native tree species. Requirements include supervisory training and experience; a Diploma in arboriculture or horticulture with at least two years’ experience in the urban forestry and arboriculture field; I.S.A. certification; I.S.A. Certified Tree Risk Assessor Qualification; and a valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license with air endorsement.
