Temporary Full-Time Applications Analyst
(Competition 14-89)

The City of Nanaimo is seeking a temporary full-time Applications Analyst to work in the area of web development. The applicant will be part of a team responsible for developing, designing, implementing and supporting the City’s mission critical web applications. If you are shortlisted for testing, this position will require a practical test of web development using ASP.Net C# or PHP and interacting with a Microsoft SQL Server database.

Applicants will have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Geomatics from a recognized University or Technical Institute and will have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the Programming specialization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Applicants must be eligible for Certification as an Information Systems Professional of Canada (I.S.P.) or certification as a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) through the GIS Certification Institute.  Possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check will be required.

This is a unionized position, $35.44 – $37.30 per hour (Jan. 2015 Rate) based on a 35 hour work week.  It is anticipated that this vacancy will be until September 2015.
