You are the ideal candidate, who holds an Alberta Environment Level III certification in water distribution and wastewater collection and a Level II certification in water treatment. Wastewater treatment certification is also considered an asset.
As Water Services Foreman, you are actively in the field performing hands on work and ensuring the Town’s operating systems are compliant, that data collection is diligently accurate and that our water supply stays clean and safe. You are currently a leader, preferably in a municipal environment, and are a “natural” teacher, mentor and coach with a proven record of instilling high pride, safety compliance, productivity and quality work in the utilities team.
Beyond the technical work, you interact professionally and respectfully with customers (internal and external) and the general public; exercising independent judgment in operational duties, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal associates, management, coworkers and vendors.
You possess a valid class 3Q Alberta driver’s licence and can provide a current and clear drivers abstract on hire. Your experience includes, the operation of municipal-related heavy- and light-duty equipment, use of hand and power tools, and working outdoors in all weather conditions. You have current basic first-aid certification with CPR and are competent with the use of MS Office programs (specifically Outlook and Excel).
This position is based on a 40 hour work week and requires participation in our emergency on-call rotation. Rate of pay is certifications-based and ranges from $37.89 (6 certs) to $45.38 (12 certs) with on-going training and development as part of this department’s mandate.
