Watch Clerk – City of Nanaimo

The City of Nanaimo is seeking 2 permanent part-time Watch Clerks. The incumbents will enter, remove and edit all relevant data into the Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME), Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), File Tracker and Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) computer systems. The incumbents will also perform classification and quality assurance reviews of general duty operational files.

Applicants will have completed Grade 12, plus a minimum 6 month Applied Business Technology or Administrative Assistant training program at an accredited education institution (e.g. VIU or Sprott Shaw). A minimum of 1 year related experience is required; however, an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Attainment and maintenance of RCMP Reliability / Security clearance is mandatory.

This is a unionized position. $30.74 per hour – after Probation (Jul 2016 Rate). A comprehensive benefit package is included. This position involves shift work covering a 24-hour, 7-day operation. Extensive weekend and night shift work is required. Hours of work for permanent part-time positions are 0-48 hours per week, depending on the workload.
