In this position you will work for the City’s Operations Department and working closely with the City’s surveying team, you will assist in undertaking topographical surveys, property line surveys, and underground utility locating. You will also work with City construction crews to provide layout of road construction, drainage, utility and other civil construction works. You will be capable to undertake basic
survey and layout duties as well you will be able to interpret construction drawings and legal plans as well as producing basic survey drawings. Familiarity with GPS survey equipment and underground utility locating equipment would be an asset.

Preference will be given to a graduate of a 2 year civil engineering program or program in a related discipline with surveying or utility locating courses from a recognized institution plus 2 years of related municipal engineering work or an acceptable combination of training and experience. A valid, unrestricted, B.C. Driver’s Licence is required.
