Tiktok Specialist – The Starfish Canada – Manitoba

registered as students in Canadian postsecondary institutions, with no age limit; and
Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and,
legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
What tasks will the intern need to complete to achieve the project goal?
The intern will be helping to build our brand voice on this fun and important channel, lead engagement, and sharing learnings with our Digital Marketing team.

Responsibilities include:
Pitch and create new content for TikTok by creating and editing existing material in creative new ways to highlight engaging moments, and tap into new and popular TikTok trends
Create inventive live-action content around our brands
Engage with our audience and other creators from the brand’s voice
Understand and share performance metrics on a monthly basis
Keep up to date with the latest TikTok and new platform trends, and share learnings
Participate in regular content brainstorms and team huddles
How will the intern be supported in completing the project?
The intern will work closely with The Starfish Canada’s Social Media & Community Manager and Director of Marketing throughout the internship. The Social Media & Community Manager will be the main point of contact for communication on the content creation and planning process, and the Director of Marketing will be the main point of contact regarding the overall integration of TikTok within digital marketing campaigns and strategy.
The intern will also have weekly check-ins with our Social Media & Community Manager to stay organized, on track, and keep communication open. Our Director of Marketing will provide the intern with a proposed timeline and schedule for intended pieces, building on our current social media plan and campaign calendar.
Our Digital Marketing Team at The Starfish Canada is here to support the intern from day one of this internship with anything they need. Our main form of communication is through both email and our online Slack channel. All correspondence is conducted online and this is a remote internship position. Please be aware that our staff at The Starfish Canada work across a variety of time zones across the country.
What skills or technologies will help the intern to complete the project?

To be successful in this internship, the intern ideally has:
Experience creating creative content on TikTok that has performed well and grabbed attention
A passion for experimenting on social media platforms
Strong knowledge of what performs well on the platform and what doesn’t
Videography, an interest in design, or equivalent relevant experience
Access to a computer, email, and working knowledge of Slack and Google platforms
Strong communication and accountability skills
