Job Purpose:
The SLP Digital Program Assistant will report to the SLP Program Manager to assist with the development of our online program and supporting resources to contribute to the overall success of the SLP program in driving impact in the Halton, Hamilton and Niagara Region communities served.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop an online greenhouse gas emissions analysis and accounting tool;
Develop an online water management tool;
Work collaboratively with the SLP Program Manager to collect and analyse the data from our members. This will assist in highlighting the sustainability successes of SLP member companies;
Support the upkeep of our digital resources and help administer the technical resources for new member onboarding;
Develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality;
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities;
Assist with development of apps or software related to sustainability education as part of the online SLP program as needed.

Training for the position will be provided by the SLP Program Manager and Executive Director, with specific technical training provided as necessary through external webinars and courses.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Management, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or related program. A strong interest or passion for sustainability and contributing to a healthy community would be preferred.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, traits and abilities:
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), especially in Excel
Microsoft Access or other database software experience would be an asset
WordPress content population/development, working with WordPress plugins, etc., experience
Familiarity with G Suite and similar products
Familiarity with Greenhouse Gas accounting would be an asset
Positive, optimistic outlook and passionate about sustainability
Self-motivated, works well independently but thrives on teamwork
Analytical, scientific in approach to finding new solutions and problem-solving
Proactive, forward-thinking
Outgoing, service-oriented, confident
Excellent communications skills – verbally as well as written
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Additional requirements of our funders stipulate that the successful candidate must be:
Under the age of (not yet turned) 31
Not currently in receipt of EI benefits
Canadian citizen, permanent resident or holding refugee status
Accepted as a candidate by ECO Canada Digital Skills for Youth

Remuneration:
This position is being funded by a federal grant until March 31, 2021. Remuneration is $20 per hour for a 37.5-hour work week.

Location of Work:
The majority of this work will be conducted from home or other location determined by the successful candidate. Occasional work and in-person meetings may be conducted if possible adhering to COVID safety precautions at the SHB Hamilton office or other location.
