Key Responsibilities
Provide customer service and volunteer support to the Health Equipment Loan Program
Provide support to enhance the profile of the Canadian Red Cross in the community
Maintain quality control by ensuring Red Cross quality assurance standards are met
Assist with orientation and training of customer service volunteers
Provide support to other Red Cross programs as required
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
The minimum qualifications for this position include, grade 12 graduation, training in office procedures and customer service, minimum of one year work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
Applicants must also meet the criteria established by Service Canada funding, which includes:
must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
must have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
Abilities and Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong organizational skills
Outstanding customer service skills
Excellent computer skills including data entry and database skills
Must be able to physically lift and carry 50 pounds
Valid BC Driver’s Licence
Assets:
Switchboard experience
Experience working with volunteers, diverse populations, and/or in the not-for-profit sector
Fluency in a second language
Valid First Aid Certification
Familiarity with medical equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS
35-hour work week, Monday to Friday with the majority of the work performed in an office environment.
