Provide an informative narrative to clients on board as well as answer any and all questions. (This will require training with other guides and the ability to learn and retain information about the wildlife/local area.)
Responsible for the River Safari boats.
Clean and maintain dock, ramp and boating equipment storage areas.
Follow and enforce all boat policy including safety procedures.
Organize transportation schedules for trips with guide team leaders.
Responsible for Radio battery charging at front desk.
Assist in maintaining touring paths and landscaping.
Is responsible to and will meet weekly with the Dock Manager.
Assist where needed as time allows.
Review job description at the end of the season and update, revise and comment on as necessary.
Requirements:
Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) certification
Completion of a Small Non-Pleasure Vessel Basic Safety course (Med A-3)
Minimum 2 years guiding/boat driving experience
Willing to work a flexible schedule
Professional appearance & attitude
Willingness to live in a semi-isolated environment
Second language a prerequisite (preferably Spanish,) third and fourth languages an asset
Wage $27/hr
