Coquitlam Parks, Recreation & Culture Services is seeking enthusiastic and experienced:

Seniors Centre Assistants and
Registration Clerks/Receptionists
(Auxiliary, On-Call)

The Seniors Centre Assistant position performs reception, recreation and general office work.  Other duties involve answering enquiries, providing assistance to members and the general public and performing registration and clerical tasks.  You may also instructor lead recreation programs at the elementary level and take responsibility for the security of the premises.

Preferred candidates will have relevant clerical and cash handling experience and strong customer service skills supplemented by commercial courses including computer training.  Experience working with seniors in a recreational setting is an asset. You must possess a current first aid certificate and a valid BC Driver’s License by the closing date of this competition.  Candidates must be able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings and weekends. The CUPE hourly rate of $21.87 – $25.61 (Seniors Centre Assistant #2015-101273) is offered, plus 12% in lieu of benefits.

The Registration Clerk/Receptionist position is a front-line role where you can showcase your excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as work independently. This position calls for good telephone and keyboarding/data entry skills, computer knowledge and, at minimum, completion of Grade 12. Sound knowledge of cash handling procedures and the ability to work in a front office environment are important. You will provide information on Parks, Recreation and Culture programs/schedules, process admissions and program registrations, and receive payments. Cash handling experience is key for this role.

Preferred candidates will have completed grade 12 and have supplemented their education with commercial, typing and data entry courses plus sound related experience including cashiering.  Experience working in a recreational setting is an asset.  You must possess a valid BC Driver’s License by the closing date of this competition.  Candidates must be able to work weekdays with shifts varying from week to week. The CUPE hourly rate of $20.98 – $24.59 (Registration Clerk/Receptionist #2015-101271) is offered, plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
