As Senior Project Manager your role will include:
Managing multi-sectoral projects and partnerships with government, NGOs, social agencies, and community groups;
Connecting and building the capacity of park-based community groups in cities across Canada;
Collaborating internally to develop and grow Park People’s programs by contributing to planning for future programs that are informed by Park People’s strategic direction, stakeholder feedback, evaluation results, and funding requirements;
Provide input into fundraising strategy and content for fundraising applications, including tracking project deliverables, and articulating the impact of Park People’s work;
Planning and implementing program evaluation frameworks;
Supporting a healthy team culture of collaboration, accountability, support, ongoing learning, and effective processes;
Supervising staff, students, volunteers;
Other duties as required.
The skills and experience you bring to the role include:
3-5 years of personal or professional experience designing, leading, and evaluating community programs.
Personal or professional experience working with equity-deserving groups;
Strong project management skills, ability to delegate and collaborate internally and externally, being agile and responsive, being able to pivot while maintaining momentum;
Strong communication skills including written, presentation and public speaking skills
Strong understanding of public park policy and park development;
Understanding of and commitment to anti-oppressive community-building, understanding of intersectional barriers to access and inclusion in parks and public spaces;
Critical judgment in navigating uncertainty and complexity;
Demonstrated experience planning small to medium sized events;
Demonstrated understanding of budgeting and forecasting;
Excellent organizational and time management skills; effective at managing multiple priorities and deliverables with competing deadlines;
1-2 years of experience in supervisory roles and mentoring a staff team;
Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset. Multilingualism (languages commonly spoken in neighbourhoods across Toronto) is an asset;
Demonstrated fundraising experience including proposal and report writing is an asset
Training/experience in trauma-informed community development is an asset;
Experience working in a virtual environment and using online platforms for public engagement is an asset;
A G class driver’s license is an asset.
Location and Working Conditions: Candidates must be located in the Greater Toronto Area; occasional evening or weekend work may be required. We will assume a hybrid remote role with in-person obligations in neighbourhoods across Toronto. Occasional travel within Canada may be required.
Starting Salary: $55,00-$60,000
