Retail Associate – Karma Co-operative – Toronto

Position Summary:
Provide friendly customer service
Price, display, and restock products throughout the store
Receive deliveries from suppliers
Ensure efficient and effective store opening and closing procedures
Purchase as required
Display, cull and prep produce
Operate cash registers
Explain and promote the co-op to potential members
Prioritize tasks in a busy work environment

The ideal candidate will have/be:
Experience in retail operations and purchasing
Knowledge of co-ops and member-owned organizations
Knowledge of organic/local food and health/ecofriendly products
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Self-motivated, detail-oriented and energetic
A great team player but also able to work alone and self-direct
Able to lift 50 lbs
Must be available to work evenings and weekends
Experience working with and handling produce
Experience operating a POS system
Flexible schedule to help cover shifts
Comfortable with wearing a mask and adhering to other CoVID safety protocol

Education required: Grade 12 graduation
Anticipated start date: ASAP
Starting wage: $15.00/hr, paid sick time, plus a 25% store discount
