WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Natural Forces is seeking a recent graduate to fill a position as Renewable Energy Project Developer. This is a full-time position based in Halifax, NS that will require occasional travel. The primary responsibilities of the role will be:
Support the development of various renewable energy projects across Canada
Plan and manage stakeholder and rightsholder engagement
Assist with environmental permitting

KEY TASKS/DUTIES
Stakeholder and Rightsholder Relations and Outreach
Develop and implement stakeholder and rightsholder engagement plans
Plan and manage project-specific education and engagement activities, such as public open houses and project newsletters
Build relationships and coordinate engagement with special interest groups and elected officials
Prepare and design public-facing stakeholder engagement and consultation materials
Environmental Impact Assessments Planning and Reporting
Work with consultants to create and execute environmental field study plans
Consult regulators on study plans, study results, and effects mitigation
Review and edit field study reports
Write environmental impact assessments and management plans for renewable energy projects
Ensure project compliance with all environmental commitments

Other Duties
Develop a deep understanding of federal, provincial, and regional legislation and policy related to environmental permits required for various renewable energy projects
Continually research industry best practices and innovative approaches to stakeholder and rightsholder engagement and environmental assessment
Assist in identifying new prospective wind project sites

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Post-secondary degree with background in biology, environmental science, or a related discipline
Experience with GIS software is an asset, but is not considered mandatory

Excellent interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication
Confident giving presentations
Problem solving skills
Strong attention to detail
Easily motivated and can execute tasks independently
Willing to travel and carry out remote site visits
