the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, is seeking its next Regional Lead Health Services (Acute) and Chief Nursing Officer, WRHA (formerly known as Chief Nursing Officer & Chief Health Operations Officer Hospitals, Acute Care Programs, Access and Transition, WRHA). Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Regional Lead Health Services (Acute) and Chief Nursing Officer is a key member of the WRHA’s executive team and provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for hospitals and centralized operations units. The successful candidate will advance health care delivery in the region by establishing and sustaining effective partnerships with site leaders, community health partners, central government and the nursing program. Working with senior leaders across the health system, she/he will establish structures, systems, processes and standards to align with transformation in the healthcare system in Manitoba.

Lead Health Services (Acute) and Chief Nursing Officer will provide thought leadership on nursing issues and create and sustain a high performance organization, based on a commitment to high quality care, the needs of the patient, continuous improvement and accountability.
The Regional Lead Health Services (Acute) and Chief Nursing Officer is an evolving position and requires strong visionary leadership and excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills, political and financial acumen, superior judgment and an outcomes orientation. A proven change leader, the ideal candidate will bring to this role a masters degree in nursing or a related area complemented by a minimum of 15 years senior leadership experience in large, complex health services delivery. The candidate will be a registered nurse (or eligible for) in Manitoba. Recent experience with program management in a large region is preferred and a PhD will be considered an asset. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience building and leading high performance, cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams and leading strategic change.
