DUTIES:
Customer service, supervising staff, office management, administration, and reception. Moderately complex clerical work involving organizing and monitoring the efficient operation of the office support services and the provision of general office support services in a recreation facility. Provides information and assistance to the general public and patrons; receives and processes remittances, prepares and maintains a variety of office records and related materials and performs related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess excellent customer service and communication skills and have the ability to work well with members of the facility staff team. Candidates provide information and assistance to the public regarding programs, activities and community events. Candidates should have sound knowledge of computer applications, including knowledge of CLASS registration and payment processing, scheduling and payroll, and preparing reports. Must have strong problem solving skills and be comfortable in a high-paced, demanding setting. Must have sound knowledge of the programs, policies and practices of the NVRC, including health and safety practices. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by typing and word processing courses; sound related experience including some supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience with tennis, tennis centre operations, court bookings and special event planning would be preferable.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND REGISTRATIONS:
BC Class 5 Driver’s License may be required for some positions.
This is a regular full-time position involving shift work including days, evenings, and weekends for 35 hours per week.
All employees should be prepared to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Record Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment. Clearance requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions related to this position.
