Full-Time Permanent
This position is primarily responsible for planning and coordinating the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive Records and Information Management program for Lac La Biche County. Responsibilities include the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures, access and control, retention and disposition, legislative compliance, preservation, education and training with respect to records created or received by the County, while observing organizational values and objectives and industry standards and best practices.
Responsible for:
Developing and maintaining classification structure, retention schedule, and records disposition.
Creating and maintaining a tracking tool for potential changes to classification and retention requirements.
Develop procedures and guidelines that support policies objectives.
Meet with staff in all units to analyze information resources required to perform their specific functions.
Create and manage a procedure to dispose of records once retention requirements have been met
Create a baseline and prepare metrics for measuring the success of, and identifying gaps in the RIM program.
Supervise and monitor performance of Project Clerk, Filing Clerk, Record Clerk, and Mail Clerk.
Perform record searches when requested from other departments.
Prepare monthly reports and budget requirements for review for the Senior Manager.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a diploma in Information and Records Management, or Archival Studies, Library Science, degree is preferred. Public/Business Administration may be considered with relevant experience.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in records management, preferably in a municipal government environment.
A Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation or other RIM certifications would be considered an asset.
Equivalent experience and education may be considered.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, databases and records management software.
Effective written communication skills including the ability to prepare reports, proposals, policies, and procedures.
Must be capable of reaching and lifting heavy boxes weighing as much as 50 pounds.
The successful candidates will be asked to provide a Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check, and Medical Assessment that meets with the satisfaction of the County.
Salary range is $57,433.88 – $71,089.51 annually
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
