Public Markets Coordinator – Ahuntsic-Cartierville Markets – Montreal

Description of tasks
Under the responsibility of the MAC management, the Public Procurement Coordinator will be based in the office of the Centrale Agricole. He or she will be responsible for the organization and operation of two seasonal markets and the following
Responsibilities:
Operation and logistics
Ensure the strategic and operational planning of two public contracts
Ensure the recruitment of exhibitors (producers, traders and craftsmen) for the two markets
Ensure the monitoring and financial management of market rental spaces with exhibitors
Operate the assembly and logistics of the markets with the support of a team of clerks and volunteers. Ensure that exhibitors respect the equipment and the maintenance of the truck during the market season (weekends, from mid-June to mid-October)
Support the design and implementation of communication strategies good market visibility for all types of customers
Settle the administrative and legal aspects necessary for the proper functioning of the markets: MAPAQ permits, liquor authorities, fire department, insurance, etc.
Human Resource Management
Manage the hiring and training of human resources
Supervise/manage the team of clerks and volunteers and participate in meetings
Project development
Writing end-of-year reports for the public procurement project and carrying out strategic and budgetary planning for the following year
Support management in grant research and writing

Job requirements
Experience and/or training in event organization or project management
Good interpersonal skills and negotiation skills
Good physical shape, ability to lift loads and work in various weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.)
Possess a class 5 driver’s license valid in Quebec
Proficiency in Office, mainly Excel, and the Google Drive suite

Working conditions
Schedule from Wednesday to Sunday during the summer season (mid-June to mid-October) and flexible out of season
Full time 40 hrs/week during the summer season and 30 hrs/week during the winter
End of contract end of November 2023 with possibility of extension
Hourly rate: Between $20/h and $23/h depending on experience
