POSITION OVERVIEW
As a member of the ALUS Canada team, the Project Manager for New Acre Project will be primarily responsible for leading the coordination of New Acre Project sponsorship opportunities that involve expansion of nature-based projects delivered by farmers and ranchers across Canada.
The Project Manager will be an essential team member involved in the entire project cycle from proposal development, cross-functional team engagement, client engagement, and reporting and evaluation. Some projects may also involve coordinating with research partners that are involved in the measurement of ecosystem services (carbon sequestration, water, and biodiversity), which are important outcomes to ALUS’ project partners.
You will be accountable for the entire project scope, including coordinating regular meetings with the project team members, project budget management, and its overall success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Delivery
Support and oversee the development, delivery, and implementation of the ALUS New Acre Project corporate sponsorship opportunities, nationally.
Coordinate through ALUS Hub Managers with community partners as necessary to ensure local deliverables are being met.
Lead and coordinate regular project team meetings for complex files and participate in other project teams when appropriate.
Support the planning of events and tours to stimulate learning and sharing of our clients and their employees with the local communities where they invest.
Be a key contributor to the national ALUS strategic management team and program operations team by providing expert advice and leadership to ensure the continuity and growth of the ALUS program.
Any other relevant duties as assigned to advance the mission and vision of the ALUS program.
Grant Management and Fund Development
Manage and administer New Acre Project sponsorships including deliverables, reporting and financial oversight.
Explore partnership and funding opportunities to build and advance the objectives of New Acre Project.
Review, collate and analyze project plans, outcomes and other pertinent project information for reporting purposes, under the direction of the Donor Relations team as required.
Outreach and Communications
Support marketing and communication efforts at the community and provincial levels.
Identify opportunities for communities to connect and share information.
Present an overview of New Acre Project concepts to new and interested stakeholders.
SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
The role requires a strategic business mindset, a positive outlook and demeanor, exceptional team building skills, and diplomacy in change management.
Strong administration, coordination, and organizational skills.
University or college degree or equivalent experience.
3+ years’ experience in a project management position (business, agricultural or environmental field an asset).
Practical understanding of ecological restoration, agricultural practices, carbon markets, and/or business sustainability is an asset.
Outstanding communication skills: energetic personality with strong written and verbal skills, and a persuasive speaker and excellent listener.
Excellent word processing skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel; Salesforce is an asset.
Able to multi-task and handle multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
Project and budget management experience preferred.
High degree of independence, time management and self-reliance.
Bilingual (French and English) or other languages is an asset.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND COMPENSATION
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday; 35 hours per week.
Occasional evening or weekend work as well as occasional travel required.
ALUS Canada does not have a centralized office space; The person will work from a home office, which may be located anywhere in Canada with reliable access to high-speed internet and phone service.
Candidate will be required to work from a computer that can support Microsoft Office 365 (for Business) including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. Support or reimbursement for purchasing a device with minimum operating requirements may be available.
This position will require the candidate to work with a variety of ALUS program teams including joining all relevant team meetings via conference call or video conference, as determined by the team leader.

Compensation is commensurate with experience, education and skill set.
