Job Description & Responsibilities:
EKISC is looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join the team as our Program Director. The ideal candidate will have a background in business administration and non-profit management, strong organizational and program management skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to foster a collaborative environment. The Program Director will build on existing relationships and develop new partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders, land managers/users, and partner organizations, and will work closely with the EKISC Board of Directors on strategic planning, policy development, and organizational maintenance. The Program Director will also lead a team of managers, coordinators and assistants focused on educational and field operational programs within the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK).
Wide ranging responsibilities for this position include:
Oversee an annual work plan and funding deliverables of approximately $1 million, as well as administration and financial management for the organization.
Facilitate/provide opportunities for coordination of invasive species management activities in the region to support contribution to the overall goals/objectives EKISC.
Develop annual reports, annual operating plans, strategic plans, various policies and other documents, as required.
Develop and maintain annual staffing plans based on organizational needs and recruit, hire, train, supervise, and lead EKISC staff as required.
Lead the development and implementation of new programs and initiatives.
Oversee the organization and delivery of workshops, meetings, conferences, Annual General Meeting, field tours, training courses and special events.
Strategize and initiate advocacy/lobbying activities on behalf of organization.
