About the Role
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and facilitating all activities of the Rescued Food Box Program and Pedal to Plate initiative to ensure programs run effectively and smoothly. The successful candidate will play an instrumental role in the Food Stash team of reaching our goal to support over 100 families each week by March 2021. We’re looking for someone who is exceptionally organized, an excellent communicator and problem-solver, and able to lead tasks independently while being part of a cohesive and passionate team!

You’re able to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds and complete labour intensive tasks – this role includes lifting and moving boxes of food regularly!

You’re comfortable organizing variable workloads with multiple tasks and timelines

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
1 or more years’ professional experience in a similar capacity, preferred
Experience working with vulnerable populations, an asset
Nonprofit and/or charity sector experience, an asset
Valid BC Driver’s license is required
Food Safe Certification required (can be completed upon offer of employment)
Offer of employment will be conditional upon satisfactory criminal record check and driver abstract
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator oversees and leads all activities related to Food Stash food security programs, including Rescued Food Box and Pedal to Plate, and is responsible for:
Facilitating programming which includes: preparation of food boxes; onboarding, leading and training volunteers
Overseeing and collaborating with the Program Assistant to ensure all aspects of programming run smoothly and on schedule
Collaborating with the Program Manager regarding volunteers and scheduling
Coordinating and communicating with Rescued Food Box and Pedal to Plate members and stakeholders regarding changes, scheduling, and intake/referral forms
Leading and coordinating referral and intake process for new members
Ensuring incoming food at YVR Prep is maintained and organized
Tracking and reporting on program metrics, including monthly KPIs and weight of food collected through warehouse
Participating in additional programs and/or special projects as needed
Note: This job may require additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by Food Stash Foundation.
