We are looking for a part-time Program Assistant in our Children’s Recreation Services area.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for working in the Recreation field and who is energized by a fast paced, dynamic and community development focused work environment.

This recreation work involves leadership responsibility for planning, scheduling, implementing and leading a variety of social, cultural, sport, fitness, and general interest activities for children ages 0-12 years.

The following training and experience will be assets in this position:

Training and/or experience related to the social, cultural, recreational and developmental needs of children ages 0-12 years of age
Previous experience in planning recreation activities for preschool, children and families.
Practical understanding of physical literacy and the instruction of fundamental movement skills

You must have High school graduation supplemented with post secondary education with courses related to recreation or child and youth work and sound related community recreation experience with some supervisory experience.

The following certificates/Licence are required:

A Standard First Aid, CPR Level “C” Certificate and AED
Valid class 5 Driver’s Licence.
Criminal Record Search must be completed.

This is a regular part-time position working approximately 30 hours per week.  This position will be required occasionally to work evenings and weeks.
