A part time program-support role for someone with strong communication and collaboration skills; experience in program development and management; knowledge about seed and food security; and is looking for fulfilling and engaging work.
FarmFolk CityFolk is a not-for-profit society and Canadian registered charity. Since 1993, FarmFolkCityFolk has worked to cultivate local, sustainable food systems across British Columbia. Working with a variety of partners from farmers and chefs to not-for profit societies and corporate partners, our projects provide: access to, and protection of, foodlands; support for local growers and producers; and engaging communities in the celebration of local food.
Currently FarmFolkCityFolk is contracted by USC Canada to coordinate the Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security in BC. The project aims to build a resilient seed system by increasing the quantity, quality and diversity of ecologically-grown seed, promoting public access to seed, advancing the knowledge of seed producers and building collaboration within the seed sector.

If you are experienced in program development, strong on communications and outreach, knowledgeable about seed, free for occasional travel, and like working both independently and in small teams, this contract position is for you. This position will allow you to help build and strengthen existing programs and relationships and in return offer the opportunity for a diversity of experiences which will give you the chance to show off your current skills and learn new skills along the way.
