Police Records Clerk

The City of Coquitlam is currently recruiting for a full-time Records Clerk to join their Civilian Police Services team. Reporting to the Records Coordinator this position will perform clerical and computer work of some complexity in the R.C.M.P. Detachment. Responsibilities will include mail distribution and related material, matching correspondence to appropriate files, entering and retrieving information to and from R.C.M.P. computer systems and detachment records, and providing factual information and assistance to a variety of contacts.
The successful applicant will possess relevant work experience, supplementary clerical courses, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in a similar work setting. Sound knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures used in operating PRIME computer systems are preferred. The ability to secure and maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance and a minimum alphanumeric speed of 6,000 kph is required.
The ideal candidate will have completed Grade 12 supplemented by commercial and typing courses, preferably with sound related experience, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Hours of work are based on 24/7 operation, Monday to Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
