Position: Laundry Room Attendant
Job Type: Temporary Part time
Salary: $12.5/ hour
Shifts: Mon-Fri 4:00pm-10:30pm and Satruday 9:00am-5:30pm

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining superior quality service for guests. Performing their job on a daily basis, they are required to be detailed in every aspect of their work while maintaining an efficient pace.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: (but not limited to)
Receive and process dirty linens
Sort linens, load and unload washers and dryers
Fold sheets/towels
Pack folded linen into sack for each building for the day per the schedule
Treat stains to ensure cleanliness and serviceability
Examine laundered items and discard linen which is no longer usable
Keep Laundry room neat and tidy (sweep, mop, take garbage out)
Clean dryer filters after each load
Accept deliveries and aid with inventory control
Process Requisition requests for stock (Kleenex, toilet paper, soap etc)
Ensure equipment is clean and in proper working order
Alert management of issues that arise
Monthly check of fire extinguishers and safety equipment
Wear uniform provided, hair nets and appropriate foot wear
Accurately record the amount of laundry processed each day
Tag sheets for circulation purposes (Date/Source)
Monitor chemical levels and report when running low
Job Requirements
Fluency in English – written and spoken
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Detail-oriented and professional attitude
Resourceful, motivated and show initiative
Follow all safety policies and procedures
Previous experience in a hotel laundry is a definite asset
Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment as well as cleaning techniques
Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs)
Frequent lifting, pushing of supplies and equipment.
Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending and kneeling.
Must be able to work independently and follow instructions regarding priorities of tasks and functions.
Uniform and WHIMIS training will be provided.
