Operations Coordinator – Black Eco Bloom – Ontario

About the Role
The Operations Coordinator will support the daily organizational activities and administrative tasks of Black Eco Bloom including supporting the organization’s workflow across various teams and team management. The Operations Coordinator will oversee our virtual office management, respond to communications and oversee all administrative tasks, support with financial management and volunteer coordination. The Operations Coordinator will work closely with Black Eco Bloom’s Executive team and volunteers.
The Operations Coordinator will be part of the CreateAction program and will join a national network of youth through peer learning and evaluation activities delivered by the program partners: the Canadian CED Network, the National Association of Friendship Centres, and Social Research and Demonstration Corporation.

What You Will Do!
Operations
Researching and compiling information relevant to the organizations operations
Assisting in the creation/updating of organization policies and processes
Assisting with special projects, such as budgeting, programming and project management
Supporting the budget and financial management of the organization, including fundraising efforts and grant proposals
Working closely with the finance team to develop and manage the annual budget.
Identifying potential funding sources, developing grant proposals, and cultivating relationships with donors and stakeholder
Administrative
Managing Black Eco Bloom’s main email account, including incoming and outgoing communications
Managing Black Eco Bloom’s team calendar and scheduling team meetings
Creating, updating and organizing meeting notes and minutes
Responding to form submissions and queries
Relaying information to the correct departments
Managing Black Eco Bloom’s workspace, google drive and ensuring that information is up to date and organized
Assisting in expense tracking
Volunteer Coordination
Collecting and managing volunteer information
Overseeing volunteer onboarding documents and sensitive information
Assisting or facilitating on-boarding tasks
Support the management and supervision of volunteers.
Delegate tasks and ensure that everyone is working together effectively to achieve the organization’s objectives

Desired Qualifications:
Experience as an Administrative professional (including but not limited to receptionists, administrative assistant, office manager and office support)
Strong understanding of MS Office and Google Suite
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to set and meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently & collaboratively
Willingness to learn and try new things!

Nice to have’s:
2+ years in an Administrative role
Experience working in the non-profit sector
Knowledge and/or experience with environmental justice
Knowledge of anti-racist/anti-colonial principles
Experience working with Notion
Diploma, Certificate or Degree in Office Administration,Business Administration, HR training or other relevant education

Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time contract position working 37.5 hours/week starting May 1, 2023 and ending October 27, 2023. The pay rate for this position is $21.00/hr. This position is completely remote and access to reliable internet connection and a personal computer is required.
