The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking a full-time permanent and a full-time term lifeguard/instructor to join our community services branch.

The lifeguard/instructor performs a variety of lifeguarding, instructional, and maintenance duties in the delivery of instructional and recreational aquatic programs for all age groups. The lifeguard/instructor organizes and supervises structured activities and games during public swims and special events, and works a variety of shifts during days, evenings, and weekends which may include split shifts. Required certifications and experience include:
Current NLS certification
Current WSI certification
Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
Current Aquasize certification
Formal lifeguarding and swimming instructor training
Minimum six months of directly related experience

The current rate of pay for this position is $20.62 per hour. A copy of the job description with required qualifications and abilities is attached. This is a union position; successful candidate(s) shall be required to join the United Steelworkers’ Union Local 1-1937.
