Legal Assistant – Marberg – Toronto, ON

Legal Assistant with Litigation experience required for a boutique law firm located downtown, specializing in Commercial Litigation and Administrative Law.

Responsibilities include preparing legal documents from written, oral and taped instructions, preparing precedents in a municipal, land use planning and environmental law practice including tax assessment appeals and expropriations, drafting usual correspondence to and communicating with clients on behalf of the lawyer, applying proofreading and editing skills to documents and correspondence, entering dockets and preparing accounts, obtaining information and instructions from clients, provide support to other lawyers and staff as required.

Candidate must have a Legal Administration diploma, previous law firm experience as a legal assistant with a minimum of 1 year of experience in Litigation, strong proficiency in MS Office Word, strong proficiency in PCLaw, superior attention to detail, the ability to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines and exhibit sound judgement, ability to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a team, ability to work well under pressure, flexible and quick to adapt to changes, and enjoy working in a small, busy team environment.
