Human Resource Specialist – Community Energy Association – Charlottetown

Core duties:
Hiring: Coordinate hiring and recruitment processes, including job posting development with fair and transparent visibility internally and externally, contracts, on-boarding, benefit enrollment, and transition support
Development and Connection
Support staff professional development and identify/coordinate training for both individuals and as whole organization; update and maintain staff policies; support staff resilience and wellness
Support the structure, format and content of regular team meetings; participate in management team meetings to identify opportunities to support team development
Identify and coordinate team connection opportunities; manage the visibility of agendas and report outs from Executive Team and Management Team as necessary
Staff Support: Be a point person for internal human resource questions, concerns and support, including management of internal conflict or concerns, support access to benefits, training, etc.
Management support: Provide support to the management team on the design of feedback, performance coaching and staff evaluations
Equity: Initiate the long-term and ongoing development of organizational equity-planning and policy-developing, including supporting internal engagement, cross-cultural education and training, establishment of policy statement, etc.

Desired Skillset:
Experience in managing job posting development through to on-boarding in a small to midsized dynamic and fast-moving organization
Self-directed and comfortable with remote work
Experience in the identification and facilitation of development of training and professional development opportunities for individuals and teams to support growth and organizational culture
Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, related discipline and 3-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Chartered Professional in Human Resources or working toward
Experience in equity-focused human resource management
Demonstrated experience in supporting organizations in development of equity policy and strategies
Experience in change management would be an asset
