Improving Lives Respite Services seeks a ‘Group Home Worker’ to provide one to one support to individuals with Autism, Dual Diagnosis or other Disable persons in our Group Home in Beeton, Ontario. Beeton is about fifteen minutes west of Bradford.

JOB TYPE: Regular
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent; Full-time
ANTICIPATED START DATE: As soon as Possible
SALARY: 22.00 TO 25.00 per Hour
HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT: 35 Hours/Week
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Education – College Diploma.
Experience – 1 to 2 Years
Work Setting – Group Home
Work Conditions: Fast Paced Environment, Physically Demanding, Work Under Pressure, May need to lift disable persons (More than 45 kg)
Work Location Information: It’s in Rural area; the candidate should be willing to relocate with a valid driver’s licence/Own transportation.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain current, accurate, confidential files for each client
Obtain relevant information and organize reports or case histories.
Educate clients, families and support systems about the Group Home Program –what can be provided and when to access other resources
Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and developmental needs.
Conduct workshops and analyse treatment programs.
Coordinate appropriate care and equipment including other community resources, as required
Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community.
Implement behavioural management programs and resolve conflict situation.
Supervise and track client’s day to day activities and assist in pre-release and release planning living in group homes and half-way houses.
Maintain contact with all family, Health Care providers, Social Service agencies and other resources involved with clients.
Provide crisis intervention and emergency shelter services
Participate in the selection and admission of clients to appropriate programs
Assist clients/guests with special needs.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Completed a diploma or degree in a related discipline (Business, Hospitality or other field related to the product or services being sold) from a recognized post-secondary educational institution
1-2 Years progressive experience.
Credentials Requriement: First Aid and CPR Certificate (minimum “C” level), Medication Administration Certificate, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate.
An Asset if you have experience in Housekeeping activities and Food preparation.
