DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the maintenance of the Earthwise Garden and teaching farm as a venue for educational and community programming to ensure that plantings are healthy and that the space is welcoming and attractive to garden visitors
As part of a team, implement an outreach plan to increase community engagement, assist with special events and community presentations
Assist with the delivery of hands-on adult education programs on gardening and sustainable land use
Deliver ecotours and other environmental educational workshops for school children
Assist with the delivery of therapeutic horticulture programs at the Earthwise Garden
Assist with retail initiatives including nursery, floral, and produce sales, including plant propagation, inventory, displays, and labeling
Assist with the implementation of community stewardship initiatives and assist in follow up maintenance
Assist with delivery of food security programs
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Youth 30 years or younger
Canadian Citizen or permanent resident (Service Canada requirement)
Post secondary education in Agriculture, Environmental Studies or similar field
Good understanding of sustainability issues and ecological principles
Good customer service skills and communication skills
Enjoyment of outdoor physical work
This position will be located at 6400 3rd Avenue in Delta, BC Weekend work will be required.
This is a full time, temporary position running from approximately May 1 – Sept 4.
