Job Summary:
Our Floor Supervisor/Purchaser is a hands-on, active role, working on the sales floor with our Retail Associates to maintain strong store appearance and functionality. Off the floor, they’re hard at work ensuring our shelves are always full with products our members love.
Like many small businesses, we’ve had to become more dynamic to respond to the pandemic and changing culture. Currently, we’re ideally looking for someone with full-time afternoon availability on both weekdays and weekends to work five days per week. Though, we would really appreciate a candidate who was open and adaptable to change to support us in better serving our community.
Organizational Status: The Floor Supervisor/Purchaser reports to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager and works alongside the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, other Floor Supervisor and Retail Associates.
Duties Performed:
Perform all Retail Associate duties:
Sharing your love and knowledge of food, community, and co-ops with all store visitors
Getting those deliveries on the shelf
Assisting our Produce Purchaser in produce world
Checking out our members and updating their accounts as needed
Spreading the word about co-op to potential members
Floor Supervisor/Purchaser duties:
Making stellar floor displays
Doing all of those nitty gritty steps to get product from delivery to the shelf
Creating monthly special displays, in collaboration with management and other Floor Supervisors/Purchasers, to highlight our products and working with staff and management to spread the word far and wide
Monitoring inventory closely to ensure our shelves stay full
Supporting management with new staff on-boarding, including ensuring that staff are supported, informed, keeping busy, delivering strong customer service, and keeping the store looking beautiful
Ensuring smooth day-to-day store operations
Fulfilling member special orders
Maintaining strong connections with our existing vendors
Seeking out and connecting the co-op with new vendors to fulfill member special orders and/or gaps in store offerings
The ideal candidate has/is:
experience in purchasing and inventory management

Anticipated start date: ASAP
Starting wage: $19.48/hr*
