Job Summary:
In addition to performing the duties of the Retail Associate classification, the Floor Supervisor manages and maintains the overall appearance and functioning of the sales floor, while communicating with Retail Associates and Management regarding these items. The Floor Supervisor/Purchaser acts as a point person for Retail Associates in regards to store operations, excluding produce. This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 30-40 hours per week,
The ideal candidate must be available to work Tuesdays to Saturdays, with exact shift times to be determined. Ideally, the candidate would have open availability and adaptable to change to support the store’s needs. The position starts as soon as possible.
Organizational Status: The Floor Supervisor/Purchaser reports to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager and works alongside the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Retail Associates.
Duties Performed:
All duties related to the Retail Associate classification:
provide friendly customer service;
price, display, and restock products throughout the store;
receive deliveries from suppliers;
ensure efficient and effect store opening and closing procedures;
display, cull, and prep produce;
operate cash registers;
explain and promote the co-op to potential members;
prioritize tasks in a busy work environment;
manage floor displays;
manage and create monthly specials and communicate these to management for communication purposes;
coordinate with other purchasers regarding monthly specials;
monitor inventory levels and communicate with purchasers regarding out of stocks, over purchased items or delivery status of products;
assist in the training of new staff on store operations, policies and procedures;
setting daily priorities for and delegating basic tasks to Retail Associates;
managing daily store operations, excluding those pertaining to produce;
provide advice and support to Retail Associates;
provide product highlights and recommendations to Retail Associates and Management for in store promotion and communications to members;
track, procure, replace and update product as needed from a large supplier base;
ensure products reflect Karma’s product policy;
noting and bringing member requests for new products to the attention of management for approval and/or further research.

Starting wage: $16.00-$19.00/hr*
*Karma Co-op is a unionized work environment and collective bargaining is currently underway, which will see the wage increasing to the higher end of this range
