The Opportunity
This is a career opportunity for an experienced association leader or a COO who knows how a successful, professional association functions. You know the value of education and development for its members. You are comfortable advocating for your profession or sector of the economy in government and media settings, and you know how to build and retain memberships. A relationship builder, you understand how a federation of autonomous partner organizations can best function in the interests of its members.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the role of the Executive Director & CEO is to oversee all operations, functions and activities of the member-based professional association. The Executive Director & CEO is the face of the organization, responsible for determining the proper strategic direction, implementing the vision and leading the organization towards the realization of its mission.

Qualifications
Post-secondary diploma or certificate with a focus on business
Five (5) plus years in senior leadership roles (a combination of relevant experience and education will be considered)
Experience working with professional associations and professional education/designation programs is an asset
Experience working with boards of directors for member-focused not-for-profit associations and understands strong board governance
Experience managing events such as networking functions, conferences, golf tournaments or special projects
Experience with not-for-profit organizations, education administration, project management, volunteer boards and government would be strong assets in this position
CSAE designation or working towards it would be an asset (https://csae.com)
Experience working in a federated model would be a strong asset
A knowledge of Roberts Rules of Order
