Reporting to the Chief Constable, the Executive Assistant will provide a range of confidential administrative and secretarial duties of moderate complexity and diversity, plus administrative support to the Nelson Police Board.
The individual we are seeking will be required to maintain a high degree of confidentiality as well as having strong multi-tasking skills. They will work closely with the Chief Constable and the Police Board, assisting in establishing the smooth and efficient operation of the administrative functions. They will be expected to have a high degree of independent judgment as well as the ability to provide support in minute taking, drafting correspondence and assisting in the preparation of budgets and reports. Confidential material will be handled with discretion and integrity.
The successful applicant will have a thorough knowledge of current office procedures, equipment and business language. They will have excellent verbal and written communications and be familiar with office computer software. They must possess a minimum of five (5) years secretarial or administrative experience, preferably within a police environment.
