Job Description:
The City of Brooks has an immediate opening for the position of Executive Assistant. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), this position is responsible for providing full and confidential administrative support to the CAO, Mayor and Councillors. The successful applicant will act as a liaison between the CAO, Mayor, Councillors and the public. Responsibilities also include the completion of special projects, general administrative functions for Council and Committee meetings and assistance to other staff as required.
The successful applicant will possess a Diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration or a related field, and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an office setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of bylaws, legislation, policies, the Municipal Government Act, and municipal government in general is considered a definite asset. You must possess the ability to work efficiently in an office environment, possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and have the ability to be a Commissioner for Oaths in the Province of Alberta. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, proof reading and grammar are necessary. To be considered for the position, a valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
