Requirements:
post secondary degree or diploma in conservation, environmental science, communications or related programs
excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and an ability to multi-task effectively and calmly
pre-approved or eligible for the Eco Canada Wage Funding Program (https://www.eco.ca/internship/internquiz)
experience working with NGOs on environmental protection, stewardship and volunteer involvement
driver’s license and ability to safely operate pick-up trucks, trailers and cube vans
experience in tree planting, communications, public relations and fundraising
ability to obtain vulnerable sector police clearance for working with children
First Aid/CPR certification

ability to work safely and train and coordinate large groups of volunteers and students to do the same
high quality, high productivity worker with experience working outdoors in all 4 seasons and weather
highly motivated to meet and exceed FRW goals to protect and restore ecological integrity and watershed health
willingness to work longer days when needed and several weekend events
team player who can also work independently
Desirable Experience and Assets:
natural resource, communications or applied ecology education and experience
fundraising, event planning, scheduling and administrative skills (e.g. Quickbooks)
communications, public relations, social networking, marketing and media skills
volunteer recruitment, coordination, development and retention skills
word processing, spreadsheets (Microsoft Office)
graphics, design and cartographic skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Google Earth, qGIS)
digital camera and video editing, website maintenance (WordPress), GoPro and drone operation and multi-media skills
knowledge of and proximity to the Rouge Watershed
second language(s)
Pay: $18 per hour, and potential for raises, subject to fundraising success
