Job Description:
The Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable is seeking an Engagement Coordiantor to work on a part-time basis, 10-15 hours per week over the course of 7 months to support the development and delivery of public outreach, including stewardship events and programs throughout Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.
This work will include:
Liasing and consulting with Roundtable Coordinator and members
Liasing with community members
Research to develop new learning materials and activities
Maintenance of existing activities and displays
Hands-on outdoors work
Engaging audiences of all ages and backgrounds
Volunteer coordination
Communications and promotions
Qualifications include:
Experience in Science or Environmental Education
Experience working with elementary and high-school aged youth
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of watershed conservation and environmental issues
Terms: The Engagement Coordinator will work as an independent contractor on a part-time, temporary basis.
10 – 15 hours per week, from May – December 2023 (exact start and end dates TBD)
Extension of contract may be possible
Renumeration: $30/hour
Ability to work some weekends and holidays
Must be able to lift and move event equipment such as pop-up tents, tables, chairs
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check
Be able and willing to work in the outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather
Provide own computer and means of transportation
Most work will take place from the contractor’s home, but contractor must be available to work in the Watershed during events and programs.
