The Economic Development Assistant reports to, and supports the Director of Economic Development and Tourism to implement economic development; investment and resident attraction; business retention and expansion; tourism and marketing initiatives in the town of Tumbler Ridge and in the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark.
The core responsibilities of the position are to provide organized and efficient administrative and social media/ marketing support to the economic development office and to enhance the operational continuity and efficiency of the Economic Development department. The role also includes opportunities to participate in exciting and challenging economic and community development projects, tourism campaigns and marketing initiatives that will have positive and tangible impacts on the community.
This position will require a proactive, trustworthy and extremely personable team player with an aptitude for providing exceptional customer service and building excellent working relationships with clients, colleagues, service providers and community partners. High levels of confidentiality are a prerequisite of the role, as is a proven ability to reliably manage a diverse and busy workload with initiative and minimal supervision.
The role requires a valid Class 5 Drivers Licence and a willingness to drive in varying weather conditions.
This is a Union position within the CUPE Collective Agreement Local 2979.
