Dishwasher – London – The Centre of Hope

Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Salvation Army London Centre of Hope Kitchen Support/Dishwasher is responsible to ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining room, including washing all dishes/pots/pans (etc.) – according to Public Health Standards.

Perform other position related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 10, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Ability to operate an industrial dishwasher
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Experience in a residential facility is an asset
First Aid/CPR
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training preferred
Must be physically able to work long periods of time on their feet
Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs
Understanding of, support for and commitment to the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army and a willingness to adhere to them
Provide an original copy of a Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening secured through either the national Canadian Police Information Centre or through a local police detachment; Note: A satisfactory criminal background check is required
Screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry
Provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening (where applicable) that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. The screening is secured either through the National Canadian Policy Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.

May require screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry.

Support for and an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.

NOTE: Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered

Normal Hours of Work: on call, relief position, no guaranteed hours, work offered as per operational requirements.
