Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the financial sustainability and growth of the organization. Meet monthly and annual fundraising targets to guide efforts and measure success.
Grant Applications: Research, identify, and apply for relevant grants from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources. Prepare compelling grant proposals and manage the grant application process.
Fundraising Initiatives: Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns, events, and activities to generate revenue. This includes organizing fundraising events, crowdfunding campaigns, donor cultivation, and stewardship programs.
Donor Relations: Cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, philanthropic organizations, and community stakeholders. Maintain ongoing communication and stewardship with existing donors to ensure their continued support.
Networking and Outreach: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with potential donors, community organizations, and relevant stakeholders. Attend networking events, conferences, and community gatherings to expand the organization’s visibility and donor base.
Collaboration and Team Leadership: Work closely with the project team, including translators, storytellers, and administrative staff, to align fundraising efforts with project goals and objectives. Provide leadership and guidance to fundraising staff or volunteers, if applicable.
Research and Evaluation: Stay updated on fundraising trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in the non-profit sector. Conduct research on potential funding sources and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising strategies.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
Proven track record of successful revenue generation and fundraising in the non-profit sector, including experience with grant writing, major gifts, donor cultivation, and fundraising campaigns.
Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, strategies, and techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey the organization’s mission and goals persuasively.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Indigenous community, culture, and history, particularly Kanien’kehá:ka traditions.
Demonstrated commitment to social justice, cultural preservation, and community empowerment.
Previous experience working in or with Indigenous communities.
Experience with online fundraising platforms and digital marketing strategies.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid working model: This position offers a combination of remote work and office-based work. The Director of Revenue Generation and Fundraising will have the flexibility to work from home for a portion of their workweek, with regular in-person meetings and collaboration at the office.
Compensation: To be discussed ($50,000-$70,000)
Working Hours: 37 hours a week
