Creative Producer – Canadian Red Cross – Toronto, ON

ABOUT YOU:
You’re passionate about project management, organizing teams and have experience working directly with creatives and stakeholders. You see the benefit of change-management and know that the way teams work is constantly changing; rules and processes are meant to be tweaked and upgraded. You’re a skilled communicator and relationship builder able to liaise clearly with clients and team members alike. You’re highly organized and able to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

THE ROLE:
Reporting directly to the Lead Creative Producer and working closely with key stakeholders in the Philanthropy and Prevention and Safety departments, you’ll manage the entire project process from brief intake and resourcing, to client meetings and work back schedules. You’ll work closely with the other members of DCS; content writers, web analysts, email specialists, strategists, designers and developers to create industry-leading print, web, email and marketing campaigns.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
Responsibility 1: As Creative Producer, using best in class approach, manage entire aspects of the project: objective identification, scope, estimation, risk, resourcing, schedule, budget, communication, reporting, quality assurance and process training

Activities:
Identify and clarify client objectives to develop appropriate solutions and facilitate the creation of thorough project briefs
Create and coordinate work-back schedules with clients, resources and stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered within the required timelines
Determine project skill and resource requirements and assist in the assembly of project teams and schedule creation
Liaise with multiple stakeholders and resources to facilitate meaningful collaboration and consultation as required
Proactively identify project risks and create risk management and mitigation plans with the team and consult with leadership team if solution cannot be reached within project team
Communicate project status, issues, risks, changes and results with the Marketing HUB and clients
Ensure that all changes to scope follow the change management process and are either approved, cancelled or put on hold
Continuously analyze the existing internal and external creative/marketing project process across the organization and provide recommendations to streamline these processes and make them more effective.
Help source new freelancers and vendors, and work with freelance and agency partners to coordinate resources and deadlines.
Conduct post-mortems at the end of a project. Document the learnings and ensure they are communicated and used to help improve future process flows
Train stakeholders on how to write effective briefs, how to give productive feedback, and how to secure approvals efficiently
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and vendors to earn trust and credibility
Responsibility 2: Special Projects

Activities:
Occasionally manage special projects in the areas of team process, channel audits and assist in the planning of marketing campaigns as directed by the Lead Creative Producer and Director, DCS
Responsibility 3: Administration

Activities:
Manage the master-project list and keep info up to date
Manage the creation of Basecamp projects, file uploads and work-back schedules
Manage the brief intake process from start to finish, monitoring the brief submission email inbox and correspond with clients on the status of their projects
Create or update training documentation for popular in-house project management and communication platforms and facilitate training sessions with clients and department coordinators

QUALIFICATIONS
The incumbent must have the commitment to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Movement and model the core competencies of the CRCS: team excellence, service excellence, accountability and results focused.
This position requires a satisfactory Canadian criminal record reference check.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The minimum qualifications for this job are a post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, business, communications or creative management, three years of experience in a related field with a minimum of two in creative production, project management or marketing.

KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrated understanding of advanced principles of project management as they apply to the marketing space
Experience trafficking resources
Understanding of creative assets and timelines is a strong asset
Experienced in the design nuances for a myriad of marketing sub-channels including email marketing, display advertising, direct mail, outdoor, print, campaign websites and lead generation
Understanding of brand and brand standards and ability to enforce them
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and high degree on initiative to drive projects to completion
Experience on a creative team (agency or in-house) is an asset

Technological savvy
Bilingual is an asset, but not required

WORKING CONDITIONS
The majority of the work is performed in an office environment.
Occasional requirement to work overtime hours, often with short notice.
Domestic travel may be required.
